Restoring Weathered Decks
Decks of all wood types are many times the centerpieces of an outdoor living area. We are experts in restoring all types of wood decks including ipe, mangaris, redwood, and teak. With specially formulated cleaners and brighteners, we are able to return your weathered deck back to its raw, natural tone and then protect it with a penetrating sealer that will also add a rich, beautiful tone to the existing wood grain. The deck will be protected from the inside out and will weather gracefully until your next maintenance visit is needed.
Maintaining Decks
Once a deck is properly restored, regular maintenance should be done every 12 – 24 months to keep it looking its best while keeping it protected. We prep with a special, dilutable cleaner to remove any weathering while allowing the still ‘good’ oil to remain in the wood. We then re-seal with the same sealer used originally, which enables us to return your deck to the way it was when first restored. Railings are always cleaned and sanded as well so that it will always be smooth when resting your elbows or hands.
Sealing New Decks
New decks should be cared for properly as soon as they installed or built so that you stop any potential weathering and damage to the wood. Typically your deck will be reviewed for any existing defects, then and prepped for an application of the highest quality sealers.
