Once a deck is properly restored, regular maintenance should be done every 12 – 24 months to keep it looking its best while keeping it protected. We prep with a special, dilutable cleaner to remove any weathering while allowing the still ‘good’ oil to remain in the wood. We then re-seal with the same sealer used originally, which enables us to return your deck to the way it was when first restored. Railings are always cleaned and sanded as well so that it will always be smooth when resting your elbows or hands.
Proper deck maintenance and deck cleaning are important parts of what we do and we stay in touch with our customers to make sure they don’t overlook these important processes. With the wide range of exotic hardwoods used in today’s decks, it is imperative to use someone like us who has an in-depth understanding of ipe, mangaris, redwood and teak, so that your deck gets the proper attention that it deserves.
Dirt Damage
Dirt, Air pollution and plant materials like pollen build up quickly on your wood, clogging the wood’s pores and discoloring the surface. Professional cleaning and or sanding removes these contaminants and is the first step in deck refinishing.
Sun Rays
Even on hazy days, our Southern California sun has strong UV rays that penetrate your wood, dry it and bleach out any color pigmentation. Our Professional grade, deep penetrating stain, and sealer will restore color and protect your wood from the damaging impact of the Sun.
Rain Damage
Our Coastal fog and occasional rain carry within it acidic chemicals and bio-material making your wood a perfect home for growing mold and mildew. This is where the gray, black and green spots come from. Once again our high-quality stain and sealer applied to a well-prepared surface will create a breathable yet tough barrier against these harmful elements.
Investment
Our outdoor wood refinishing and protection service not only keeps your deck looking great, but it can extend its life by decades. The return on your investment is clear and certain.
